WHY WE PRAY ON SITE At times we are asked, “Why do you pray on site? Can’t I just pray at home?” We would like to show Biblical examples of people going to a specific location to pray or make decrees and declarations. Apostolic and prophetic prayer is an important mandate as it pertains to what we call the Great Commission. Here are the words of Jesus in Jn. 20:21, “Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent Me, even so send I you.” Apostle means “sent one” and prophets at times went on site to decree or declare God’s Word, and perform prophetic acts into a specific place or situation. These proclamations, decrees, and declarations release into the spiritual atmosphere the will and purposes of God, by the authority of Christ that was given to us. Prophetic acts are simply acting out symbolically the accomplished purposes of God. Eph. 3:10-12 says, “To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which He purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: In Whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of Him.” We are to announce to principalities and powers the manifold wisdom of God, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ through His Church. Col. 2:14-15, “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” In Is. 6:8, God asks a question. “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?’ Then said I, ‘Here am I; send me.’” There have been times when God sent His messengers on site to proclaim His Word in a given situation. In 1Kgs. 13 God sent an unnamed prophet to Bethel to curse the altar of King Jeroboam which had been defiled. When the altar was cursed by the prophet, the altar split in two and ashes poured out. Lack of intercession affects the land and its ability to produce in the natural. Ezek. 22:30, “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” Sin of the people also has an affect on the land. Hos. 4:1-4 says, “Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood. Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away. Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another: for thy people are as they that strive with the priest.” Thank God that through the blood of Christ we have a new covenant and can intercede for those bound by sin. Rom. 5:20-21 says, “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.” An example of a prophetic act is found in Ezek. 4:1-3, “Thou also, son of man, take thee a tile, and lay it before thee, and portray upon it the city, even Jerusalem: And lay siege against it, and build a fort against it, and cast a mount against it; set the camp also against it, and set battering rams against it round about. Moreover take thou unto thee an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city: and set thy face against it, and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.” In the practice of praying on site, there are times Holy Spirit doesn’t even speak the word we are to pray to us until we go to the location that we are praying about, whether it be a government office, school, business or a location where we are aware of unrighteous acts taking place. We can see this also in Jeremiah’s case in Jer. 18:1-2, “The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, ‘Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.’” Jesus spoke of a superior authority in the new covenant when He spoke of John the Baptist, a prophet under the old covenant, in Matthew 11:11-12, “’Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.’” Remember, Jesus sent His disciples out ahead to the cities He was about to go to. Today He still sends us out to go and proclaim His word and announce His visitation. Luke 10:1, “After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before His face into every city and place, whither He himself would come.” Here is one testimony of what can happen when we go on site. The Lord instructed some intercessors to go to a park that is known to be a place where homosexuals can meet and then go off for relations in the bushes. While we intercessors were there waiting on the Lord at the park, He had us walk over to some bushes. There we found a literal, occult altar made of stone. We dismantled the altar and asked the Lord to reveal what was going on there and shut it down. We visited the area several more times and worshiped in the park. The day after one of these visits a friend called and asked if we had seen the front page of the local newspaper. We hadn’t, but here is what the headlines said “Group aims to reclaim beaches, members want to rid parks of sexual, drug activities.” All the sinful activity was exposed, and the county cleared the park of all the bushes. There was no longer a place to hide or for the occult altars to be rebuilt!
We encourage you to inquire of the
Lord where He would like you to go and release His word. Keep a record of
where you go onsite to pray, and expect to see changes and the kingdom of
God manifested in the earth. |
