TREASURE HUNTING ACROSS FLORIDA

ECCLESIA OF FLORIDA

March 22, 2010
Greetings Ecclesia* of Florida,
The task ahead of us is NEVER as great as the POWER within us.
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
Philippians 4:1

Thank you Sharon for compiling this review on why we bless and pray for the Jewish people.
I have also attached it as a word document for all of you.  I hope you will pass it on to others, we hope to hasten the Harvest with the unity of our prayers.
Remember what the Lord spoke through Chuck at the Lakeland meeting…there’s going to be so many Jews in this state converted. What goes on this state will change the course of history in Israel.
Why We Pray for Israel and the Jewish People

  1. I. God’s plan to restore israel1

"Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘I am zealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with great zeal.’” (Zechariah 1:14)

  1. God has great zeal for His covenant people. They are His choice - the apple of His eye (Zechariah 2:8) – the center of His agenda. He loves them because He chose them for His purposes and is absolutely committed to bright righteousness going forth from Jerusalem. He will achieve this by fulfilling all His covenant promises to Israel as a nation. He is committed for the sake of His own glory in the earth.
  2. "Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD: ‘I do not do this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy name's sake, which you have profaned among the nations wherever you went.  And I will sanctify My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst; and the nations shall know that I am the LORD,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘when I am hallowed in you before their eyes.’” (Ezekiel 36:22-23)
  3. II. The command of Scripture2
  4. I have set watchmen on your walls O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth (Isaiah 62:6)
  5. A. In Isaiah 62 we are not offered a choice in this matter. He commands those “who make mention of the Lord “to pray for Israel and “not keep silent” until God establishes Jerusalem in righteousness and glory in all the earth.

1. It is in God’s heart to establish the city of Israel and the nation of Israel as lamp that burns (Isaiah 62:1). A lamp gives direction and brings clarity. From Israel God’s rule and order will go forth with great clarity giving life to the whole world (Jeremiah 3:17).
2. We “don’t keep silent” by praying for Israel, proclaiming God’s purposes for Israel and doing works of justice for the Jewish people in time of need.
B. Whenever God gives clear commands in scripture it is revelation to us that this is close and dear to His heart. Since we love the Person of Jesus we want to love and labor for what is on His heart.
C. This was the ministry of John the Baptist. John acted as a forerunner to the nation of Israel (Isaiah 40) preparing them to meet their Messiah who had come. His fuel for his boldness with an unpopular message was intimacy with the Person of Jesus. There is a greater fulfillment of John’s ministry (Isaiah 40) coming in this generation.

“…the friend of the Bridegroom, who stands and hears Him, rejoices greatly because of the Bridegroom’s voice…” (John 3:29)
III. The Return of Jesus is Dependent Upon the Leaders of Israel3
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings but you were not willing… I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say ‘Blessed is He (Jesus) who comes in the name of the Lord’ (Matthew 23:37-39)

  1. A .Jesus will not return to rule from Jerusalem until they invite Him to do so with the voluntary confession that He is fully of God.
  1. B. This will mean that they are in agreement with His claims of who He is as the one and only Son of God; their Messiah. And, that they were wrong in denying Him at His first coming. Real people (leaders in Israel) will have to do this.

  1. C. Jesus is returning to disciple and redeem the whole earth from Jerusalem. This truth is what makes Matthew 23:39 so pivotal.
  1. D. If Jesus will not return until the leaders of Israel invite Him then this means our ultimate redemption (resurrection/glorification) will not happen until He is invited back to Jerusalem to be received by the leadership of Israel.

  1. E. Jerusalem is the city that Jesus has chosen to set up His government to rule the nations.

“At that time Jerusalem shall be called The Throne of the LORD, and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem.” (Jeremiah 3:17)

“When the Son of Man comes in His glory...then He will sit on the Throne of His glory (in Jerusalem).  All the nations will be gathered before Him...” (Matthew 25:31-32)

IV. Works of Darkness Will Not Be Destroyed Until Jesus Returns4

“He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years and cast him into the bottomless pit…so that he should deceive the nations no more…” (Revelation 20:2-3)

A.  When Jesus returns Satan will go to prison for 1,000 years and then ultimately be sentenced to the lake of fire (Revelation 20:1-2, 10).

B.  Since Jesus cannot be a liar and rightfully throw Satan into prison, Satan has sought for the prophecy of Matthew 23:39 to become impossible to come to pass. Satan knows that Jesus cannot come back until this prophecy comes to pass.

C.  If Satan can destroy Israel then there is no invitation back to Jerusalem. We’ve seen this throughout history with hatred of the Jews (Nazi, Germany and Hitler who sought for the entire annihilation of the Jews first in Europe then the whole world).

D.  If Satan can deceive Israel into vowing their allegiance to the antichrist then there can be no voluntary invitation for the rule of Jesus. The antichrist will first seek to win the hearts of Israel by establishing a treaty of peace with them (Daniel 9).

E. Satan seeks to ensure that Jews are so offended at Jesus that they will not receive Him as their King.

  1. God brings Israel to the place of repentance and salvation through the following means:5

The shattering of her own strength by the judgments of God (Deuteronomy 32:36;               Daniel 12:7).
The witness of the apostolic church of the end times, provoking her to jealousy             (Romans 11:11,25).
The prayers of the saints worldwide that the Lord would save the nation of Israel.

  1. The end result is the deliverance of Jerusalem from her enemies, the salvation of all Israel (Rom 11:26) and the full establishment of God’s Kingdom on the earth.6
  2. “And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: ‘The Deliverer will come out of Zion, and He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; For this is my covenant with them, when I take away their sins.’” (Rom. 11:26 –27)

“And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, as the Lord has said, among the remnant whom the Lord calls.” (Joel 2:32)
VII. How Do We Respond to God Today? 7

 A. We pray for Israel continually and grow in our understanding of God’s heart and purpose   for Israel. We study God’s heart and plan for Israel in the Bible.
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you.” (Psalm  122:6)

 God requires the Church to stand with Israel in their persecution (Rev. 12:17; Dan. 7:21, 25;
8:24; 11:33-35; 12:7; Rev. 6:9-11). Corrie ten Boom is an example of standing with Israel in
persecution. The Church will be brought to maturity as it responds to Jesus’ leadership in
standing with Israel (Mt. 25:31-46).8

B. We commit to boldly proclaim God’s heart and purpose for Israel (preaching in our ministries, businesses, family, in song, sermons and blogs, etc). This will rally and mobilize prayer for Israel.9
“Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” says your God. Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned...” (Isa. 40:1-2)

We take a stand to pray, declare, and sing the message about Israel’s future so that all the nations hear it (Jer. 31:7-10). The Lord requires that we make bold prophetic proclamations to give witness to the Gentile nations about God’s purposes in Israel.

“Thus says the Lord: Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the
nations; proclaim, give praise, and say, O Lord save Your people, the remnant of Israel!
Behold, I will…gather them from the ends of the earth…a great throng shall return there…Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, ‘He who scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him as a shepherd does his flock.’” (Jer. 31:7-10)10

C. We prepare to stand with Israel in the time of trouble that is coming. We prepare to do works of justice for them (mercy deeds of providing food, shelter).

Gentile believers will provoke Israel to godly jealousy to know Jesus (Rom. 11:11; 10:19). Israel will desire to have what Gentile believers possess spiritually. This will happen as we risk our lives to provide refuge for Jewish people in flight; perform miracles like Elijah (multiplying food, healing the sick, and prophesying, etc.), walk in godliness, and are fearless in the face of death.11
