THE WORKS of the BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST
By Diane Buker

“Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.” Genesis 3:21
     -
God killed animals in the garden to give a type and shadow of blood being shed to provide a covering for mankind.  This is the first example of the covering work of blood.

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding (an effusion of blood Gr.130 [effusion – Webster’s – the act of pouring out, an unrestrained expression)) of blood is no remission.”   Hebrews 9:22

“And the blood shall be to you for a token (a signal, beacon, a flag, monument, evidence, a miracle He.226) upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you when I smite the land of Egypt.”   Exodus 12:13
     -
Just as when the Father saw the blood on the door posts of the Israelites home and responded with mercy and favor, He all the more responds in mercy and favor when seeing the Blood of His only begotten Son.

“So shall He sprinkle (to startle He.5137) many nations; the kings shut their mouths at Him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.”  Isaiah 52:15
      - The Lord showed me a picture of myself standing at the kitchen sink.  I had my hands in water as one of my children walked by.  With my hands still wet I flicked my fingers, sprinkling them with the water, and it startled them.  The Father spoke to me and said that this is what the Blood of My Son Jesus Christ does.  It startles whenever it is released in faith. In startling, the Blood enables men to see, hear and consider things they had not. It brings them to the place where they understand, discern, and really begin to look well at that which they had not looked at before.

“But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off (at a distance, a great way off Gr.3112) are made nigh (near, at hand, ready Gr.1451) by the blood of Christ.” Ephesians 2:13

“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.”  Hebrews 9:14
     -
We understand that sin binds and thus hinders a person’s ability and liberty to worship and serve the Lord.  The scripture shows us how the blood of Jesus Christ sets a person free, establishing or renewing their ability to serve the Lord.

“And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh (to preach, to tell, to utter, to talk, to declare, to shout Gr.2980) better things than (stronger, nobler, dominion, might, power, strength Gr. 2909/2904) that of Abel.”  Hebrews 12:24
    -
The Holy Spirit gave me revelation through a picture in my mind.  He showed me a marriage, one that was being buffeted by strife, stress and infidelity.  He showed me how I was able to release the works of the Blood of Christ over that marriage.  As a result, the Blood began to preach, shout, that it held dominion over that marriage.  The Blood began to describe its power and strength to keep and restore that covenant.

The Holy Spirit showed me yet another scenario--someone’s finances. An assignment of lack, debt and poverty were buffeting against it.  He showed me the works of the Blood being released over them.  I heard the Blood shout NO, dominion over these finances belong to Me.  Again the Blood described its power and might in protecting and keeping these finances.  I heard the Blood releasing the Word, “the Lord is their Shepherd they shall not want” (Psalm 23:1). I heard Deuteronomy 8:18 being declared, “I have given this person the power to get wealth”. Remember the Blood and the Word agree in one.

“But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth [to make clean, purge, purify Gr.2511] us from all sin.”    1 John 1:7

“And there are three that bear witness (give evidence, testify [judicially]) Gr. 3140) in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the Blood; and these three agree (they are, I exist [used only when emphatic] I am, I have been Gr. 1526/10) in one.”   1 John 5:8

An example of putting into prayer-form the works of the Blood:

Father, with my faith (Romans 3:25] I both appropriate and release the works of the Blood of Your Son Jesus Christ over Riverdale City Mall.  I speak to the heavenlies, and remind you that this Blood is going to draw the people of this mall nigh unto God…it’s going to reconcile them unto Him, purging their consciences from dead works and setting them free to serve Him as the living God…it’s going to bring them into redemption as well as speak to and concerning them of His power, His dominion, and His might.  I further tell you, the Blood will startle these people… and in startling them it will enable them to see, hear, and consider things that they have not.  I remind you the Blood is working in agreement with the Holy Spirit and the Word.  Thank You Lord for the good fruit Your shed blood is bringing about in the lives of those that are working and shopping at the mall today.

  • Redeems and cleanses me from past, present and future sin (Ephesians 1:7, 1 John 1:7)
  • Justifies me, making me righteous, as if I had never sinned (Romans 5:9, Hebrews 13:12)
  • Cleanses my mind and conscience from sin and the memories it created (Hebrews 9:14)
  • Reconciles me with God, because Jesus bore all the punishment for my sin (Romans 5:1, 1 Peter 2:24); I am forgiven for all my sins (1 John 1:9)!
  • Enables me to boldly approach God's throne without fear of punishment (Hebrews 10:19)
