Prayer Strategy Concerning Freemasonry

The Eye of the Lord versus the eye of Horus

Freemasonry employs a mystical eye in its imagery known throughout the occult world as "the all-seeing eye." This symbol which is shared with most false religions, cults and occult bodies today has always been used as a symbol of 'deity'. Occultist Fredrick Goodman explains that, "The eye plays a most important part in occult symbolism and probably owes its origin in western magical designs to the Eye of Horus, which was one of the most frequently used of Egyptian magical symbols" (Magical Symbols p. 101).

“The Masonic third degree lecture teaches that the "All-Seeing Eye whom the Sun Moon and Stars obey, and under whose watchful care even comets perform their stupendous revolutions, beholds the innermost recesses of the human heart, and will reward us according to our works".   William Schnoebelen  Beyond The Light p. 136

The peculiar Masonic teaching that surrounds this esoteric symbol, not surprisingly, disguises an occult meaning. Evangelical author of 'Guardians of the Grail' J.R. Church states, "The symbol may represent a god, but it is not the God of the Bible. It is a human eye indicating that man is god. It represents so-called 'mind power', the ability to manipulate one's world with thought" (p. 165).

Occultist Fredrick Goodman writes that, "the eye relates to the 'God within' to the higher spiritual guardian who can 'see' the purpose of man's life, and in some mysterious way guide him" (Magical Symbols p. 101).

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.”    2 Chronicles 16:9

“For He looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;”   Job 28:24

“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with Mine eye.”   Psalm 32:8

“Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear Him, upon them that hope in His mercy;”    Psalm 33:18

“The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears are open unto their cry.” Psalm 34:15

“The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.”  Proverbs 15:3

“For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.”  Jeremiah 24:6

Right Hand of God versus the right hand of the worshipful master

During the 3rd degree of Freemasonry the candidate is, in play acting form, knocked on the head to portray his death.  The Junior Warden attempts to raise the candidate from his "grave" using the grip of an Entered Apprentice, but fails. The Senior Warden then is told to try using the Fellowcraft grip which is equally ineffectual. Finally, the Worshipful Master himself grips the candidate tightly using the "Lion's Paw" or "Eagle's Claw" grip and pulls the candidate immediately to his feet.

"As I reached the vertical position the Worshipful Master whispered two peculiar words in my ear." "Ma'at-neb-men-aa, Ma'at-ba-aa."

"...These words are pure Egyptian" meaning: "Great is the established Master of Freemasonry [Ma'at], Great is the Spirit of Freemasonry [Ma'at]."

- Christopher Knight and Robert Lomas, The Hiram Key: Pharaohs, Freemasons and the Discovery of the Secret Scrolls of Jesus

“And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand. And I will stretch out My hand, and smite Egypt with all My wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go.”   Exodus 3:19-20

“Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like Him?”   Job 40:9

“Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty. Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him. Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place. Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret. Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.”   Job 40:10-14

“That Thy beloved may be delivered: save with Thy right hand, and answer me.” Psalm 108:6

“The right hand of the Lord is exalted: the right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly. Psalm 118:16

“If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall Thy hand lead me, and Thy right hand shall hold me.”   Psalm 139:9-10

“Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear:”   Isaiah 59:1

-God’s Cornerstone versus the Masonic cornerstone

Merriam Webster’s Dictionary defines the word “cornerstone”: as a basic element, foundational.  Freemasonry wants their tenants and works to be the basic and foundational elements of men’s life as opposed to Christ.  Mason’s consider the placing of their cornerstone as an act of consecration.

“Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.”   Isaiah 28:16

“Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?”    Matthew 21:42

“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”        1 Corinthians 3:11

“Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.”    Ephesians 2:19-22

- God’s Plumb Line and measuring line versus the Masonic compass and square

“The square reminds Masons to “square” their actions by the “square of virtue,” and the compasses remind them to “circumscribe” their passions.  In other words, Masons are reminded to keep their actions virtuous and their passions in control.”

“But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.”    Deuteronomy 25:15

“Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.” Isaiah 28:17

“For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.”    2 Corinthians 10:12
