Evidence of the Omega Days
by Diane Buker

Evidence of the Omega Days was a PowerPoint presentation given at one of our Son’s of Issachar Taught and Caught Sessions.  We felt it would help serve the Body of Christ to see a compilation of events happening around the globe that we believe give evidence of the times we are in.

1 Chronicles 12:32a
“And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; …”

Luke 21:9-10
“But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.  Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:”

Current Military Conflicts

Palestine, Uzbekistan, Yemen, Rwanda, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, USA, Angola, Sudan, Liberia, Burundi, Somalia, Rwanda, North Korea just to name a few…

“Most of these are civil or “intrastate” wars, fueled as much by racial, ethnic, or religious animosities as by ideological fervor. Most victims are civilians, a feature that distinguishes modern conflicts

During World War I, civilians made up fewer than 5 percent of all casualties. Today, 75 percent or more of those killed or wounded in wars are non-combatants.”

Luke 21:11

Global Alert Over Deadly New TB Strains
“World health officials last night put out an unprecedented warning that deadly new strains of tuberculosis, virtually untreatable using the drugs currently available, appear to be spreading across the globe.
The new strains are known as extreme drug-resistant TB, or XDR-TB. They have been identified and have killed people in several countries, including the United States.”

Superbug Succeeds by Blowing Up Defender Cells, Scientists Learn
The aggressive antibiotic-resistant staph infection responsible for thousands of recent illnesses undermines the body's defenses by causing germ-fighting cells to explode, researchers reported Sunday. Experts say the findings may help lead to better treatments.   An estimated 90,000 people in the United States fall ill each year from methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA. It is not clear how many die from the infection; one estimate put it at more than 18,000 per year, which would be slightly higher than the rate of U.S. deaths from AIDS.  The infection long has been associated with health care facilities, where it attacks people with reduced immune systems. But many recent cases involve an aggressive strain, community-associated MRSA, or CA-MRSA. It can cause severe infections and even death in otherwise healthy people outside of health care settings.

U.S. Midwest Suffers Deadly Floods

The US Midwest is counting the cost of flooding which has killed 22 people and damaged thousands of homes.  The floods came after the remnants of Tropical Storm Erin and a second storm dumped heavy rains over several days. Oklahoma, Texas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio and Missouri are among the worst affected, with the damage expected to mount to tens of millions of dollars. Meanwhile, powerful Hurricane Dean has been pounding Mexico and the Caribbean but is not forecast to hit Texas hard.  Some 22 people have died as a result of the flooding in the US Midwest, according to the Associated Press news agency. Flood warnings remain in place in Oklahoma, where the state governor has declared a state of emergency in 24 counties. A state of emergency has also been declared in a handful of counties in Wisconsin. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6959073.stm

The Wrath of 2007: America’s Great Drought
“America is facing its worst summer drought since the Dust Bowl years of the Great Depression. Or perhaps worse still.
From the mountains and desert of the West, now into an eighth consecutive dry year, to the wheat farms of Alabama, where crops are failing because of rainfall levels 12 inches lower than usual, to the vast soupy expanse of Lake Okeechobee in southern Florida, which has become so dry it actually caught fire a couple of weeks ago, a continent is crying out for water.
In the south-east, usually a lush, humid region, it is the driest few months since records began in 1895. California and Nevada, where burgeoning population centres co-exist with an often harsh, barren landscape, have seen less rain over the past year than at any time since 1924. The Sierra Nevada range, received only 27 per cent of its usual snowfall in winter, with immediate knock-on effects on water supplies for the populations of Las Vegas and Los Angeles.”

U.S. Midwest Heat wave Kills Dozens

A two-week heat wave in the southern and Midwestern US has resulted in the deaths of at least 43 people, many of whom were elderly, officials have said.  Meanwhile, at least 13 people died in severe flooding in the nearby states of Oklahoma, Minnesota and Texas. Thunderstorms caused by the remnants of Tropical Storm Erin dropped up to 1ft (30cm) of rain in southern parts of the region, causing rivers to burst their banks and forcing hundreds of people from their homes. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6955050.stm

Deaths Mount Amid California Heat

The heat wave that has been baking California since mid-July is being blamed for more than 130 deaths across the state, the authorities have said. Many of the deaths have been in the Central Valley, where temperatures have reached 46C (115F) in some areas.
Among the worst-hit areas is Fresno, where the local mortuary is struggling to deal with dozens of bodies.
The heat has also hit the agriculture sector, killing 25,000 cattle and 700,000 poultry, farmers say.

Salmonella is carried by animals, but somehow was transferred during the manufacturing process to the peanuts.

USDA Probing Sources Of Tainted Beef Products

Gazette Staff Reports
The recall of about 129,000 pounds of beef this weekend has executives at Davis Creek Meats and Seafood in Kalamazoo hoping there won’t be more consumers reporting illnesses as a result of eating their beef products.
Tom Christensen, business manager for Davis Creek, said today the recall will have a “significant” financial impact on the company, but he did not provide a dollar amount.
Christensen said the U.S. Department of Agriculture is reviewing a list of the company’s beef – processing suppliers to determine the source of beef products contaminated with a strain of the E. coli bacteria.

FDA Says Food Recall is Urgent Health Threat

Mon Jul 23, 2007
Washington (Reuters) – A recall of canned meat products and dog food made at a Georgia plant due to botulism fears could involve tens of millions of cans that pose an urgent public health threat, U.S. officials said on Monday.

“This is a very big recall,” David Elder of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s office of regulatory affairs told reporters, deeming it an “urgent public health matter.”

U.S. officials said an outbreak of botulism due to a commercially canned food is extremely rare and has not occurred in the United States in more than three decades.

More Tainted Beef Recalled
October 7, 2007
About ten days ago consumers saw Topps Meat Company of New Jersey recall almost 22 million poinds of frozen ground beef patties, the second-larges ground beef recall in U.S. history, followed by Topps closure late last week. That recall was followed by a small recall by Impero Food & Meats, Inc., of Baltimore, Maryland. What was troubling about the Impero meat recall was that the same organism involved in the Topps recall, E. coli O157:H7, was involved. Yesterday, the USDA announced still another ground beef recall, this by Cargill Meat Solutions Corporation, involving about 845,000 pounds of frozen ground beef patties because they, too, may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7,

'Mom' and 'Dad' Banished by California
Schwarzenegger signs law outlawing terms perceived as negative to 'gays'
October 13, 2007

Mom and Dad" as well as "husband and wife" effectively have been banned from California schools under a bill signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who with his signature also ordered public schools to allow boys to use girls restrooms and locker rooms, and vice versa, if they choose.
"We are shocked and appalled that the governor has blatantly attacked traditional family values in
California," said Karen England, executive director of Capitol Resource Institute.
"With this decision, Gov. Schwarzenegger has told parents that their values are irrelevant. Many parents will have no choice but to pull their children out of the public schools that have now become
sexualized indoctrination centers."
The bills signed by Schwarzenegger include SB777, which bans anything in public schools that could be interpreted as negative toward homosexuality, bisexuality and other alternative lifestyle choices.
